Premier League

The Premier League is the top tier of professional football (soccer) in England. Established in 1992, it operates as a league competition featuring 20 clubs that compete against each other over the course of a season, which typically runs from August to May. The league is known for its high level of competition, attracting top players and managers from around the world. Teams earn points based on match results, with three points awarded for a win, one point for a draw, and none for a loss. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is crowned the champion. The Premier League also incorporates a system of promotion and relegation, where the lowest-performing teams are relegated to the lower division, known as the EFL Championship, while the best teams from that division are promoted to the Premier League. It is one of the most-watched and commercially successful sports leagues globally, contributing significantly to the popularity of football in England and worldwide.
